Welcome to Dropmore Vineyard
Dropmore Vineyard is a love story of one man and his wife’s vision to create a small and perfectly formed vineyard, nestled on the fringes of Buckinghamshire’s Burnham Beeches. Inspired by a visit to New Zealand’s Marlborough wine region, with its entrepreneurial and idiosyncratic vineyards, the late founder John Petersen and his wife Feona, set about creating from scratch, in 2008, an English vineyard in their own backyard.
Today, Feona Petersen runs the vineyard, continuing to develop the legacy created by her husband. From its 5 grape varietals – Bacchus, Chardonnay, Ortega, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir - the vineyard produces two award-winning English Sparkling (our ‘Buck’s' fizz!), NEW Sparkling Rosé and 3 still dry wines – Pinot Blush (our Rosé), Ortega (a gently oaked white wine) and Bacchus (a light very quaffable white wine). Subtle coloured with a delicate nose, this rose has aromas of raspberries, cherries, strawberry nougat and pear drops. The palate is also delicate with a fine bead. Well crafted, bright red fruit driven sparkling rose.
We are essentially a PRIVATE vineyard, based as we are in a rural residential area.
This means we are not open to the public and regrettably, cannot accept casual visitors.
However, in summer months when the Vineyard is at its peak, we are happy to offer pre-arranged visitors in small groups - strictly by appointment only - a chance to tour and taste…and buy!
